Gibbs

Sorry that it has been so long since I've sent you any pictures. The summer flew by before I knew it and I realized I had not sent you any updates. Both boys are absolutely wonderful. Gibbs is up to 25 pounds and Garlic is almost 18 pounds. They are still sweet and love everyone they meet. We finished the training classes, but were somewhat disappointed in the instructor. Both boys can sit, lie down, shake your hand and come most of the time when called (unless there's a bunny rabbit or squirrel around). They got to go on their first family vacation in August. We rented a condo that allowed pets on the Jersey shore. The boys had a great time with us and we had friends come down for a few days and they brought their 1-year-old Labradoodle. Ralphie and Garlic became best of friends and all three boys had a great time chasing each other and playing. Unfortunately, they didn't allow dogs on the beaches during the summer months, so they didn't get to see the ocean. That was probably a good thing though - they would have had and stuck in their paws forever. Garlic is still the trouble-maker but so darned cute and loveable. I just caught him chewing on my kitchen table leg and he was upset with me for making him stop! Matt and I joke that Garlic is like him - extroverted and ready to try anything; and Gibbs is like me - shy, quiet and more cautious. It took Gibbs a couple of months to even try going up and down the stairs, meanwhile, Garlic had the stairs mastered within the first few weeks. We have a dog park nearby that is great - they have a large area just for small dogs. Garlic is always right in everyone's face making new friends. Gibbs hangs back a little until the other dogs come to meet him. They still love each other and nothing puts a bigger smile on my face than watching them chase each other around the yard. Gibbs is super fast and very coordinated and Garlic can't keep up with him, but he tries his hardest! School started for Max and Erica last week and the boys and I enjoy walking them to school each day. Garlic cries when Max and Erica leave to go into school. I hope all is well with both of you. Thanks! Kim

Ira

Diane, I hope this finds you well and that you've had a wonderful summer filled with a long lists of happy adoptions just as successful as my own! I thought you might like to see some recent photos of Ira (He goes by Cubone now) since he's become an official NYC resident. I couldn't be more in love with him, and I just wanted to reach out once again and express my gratitude for the invaluable service you and your rescue organization provide. Alicia

Teddy

Teddy arrived around 11:30 today is is doing terrific. He has adjusted very fast and is an absolute love bug. Here are some pictures of him (with my daughter). He is really doing well with his new surroundings; wagging his tail and bouncing all around. He is taking a well deserved nap now :)

Scully

.. a quick update on Scully. He was at vet yesterday. He has gained about 8 pounds in a month and he is all set with shots. He will be starting obedience training in a week. We love him sooo much it's crazy. He is such a good little snuggler, that we all fight about whose turn it is to have him in their bed for the night. Besides Scully being absolutely perfect, the time of year and the weather up here has been absolutely ideal for housebreaking. We spend so much time with him outside. We are still only anticipating his needs and that has kept accidents to a minimum, but he is definitely a 100pct. I am not worried about though. He will get it soon enough. I would like to express my sincere gratitude for doing what you do. I hope I get a chance to do something similar, when my husband retires. I salute you and your fosters and everyone that does what they for animals from their heart. I see that all the siblings are adopted. Did Sarge get adopted in MA. If so do you know what town? If it is in my area, you could pass on my name, phone number and email. It would be fun to have them play. Also we have met some people that are so gaga over Scully that they were wondering if any of his siblings were still available, but as I see they are gone, which is good for them. I will still recommend your rescue highly and tell everyone what exceptionally caring and professional people you are. Bless you all. This picture was taken at my Mother-in law's 80th Birthday Party, where of course he stole the show! Christina Higgins
